AUXILAMARYLLIS ’09
"A spark that will help in lighting up all latent talents of individuals and set the stage for pent up glory to have its say…"
Auxillamaryllis ’09 started off with this promise, on the 11th of August. The events of the day were beautifully started off with a small prayer session organized by the host school, dance performances on prayerful themes and the history of Auxillium Dumdum. The Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Sebastian addressed the assembly, about the necessity of leading a humble and virtuous life and declared Auxillamaryllis ’09 open.
The first event of the day for DBL was the JAM. Despite the strong resistance put up by other teams, DBL won the event. This was followed by another eagerly awaited event, the two-minutes-to-fame. It lived up to its name as the audience were treated to some absolutely amazing personal skills of participants, from ’boneless’ dance performances to astounding yoga performances. The final event of the day was the Western Music performance. It was a treat for musical connoisseurs, as songs and instrumental medleys ranging from heavy metal to pop were rendered. The day ended on a successful note, with the DBL band delivering a ’rocking’ performance.
The second day commenced with all schools trying their hands at producing ad-spoofs and concluded with the dance competition. The prize distribution ceremony was dominated by Bosconians, as DBPC and DBL swept away most of the awards, and were declared overall Winners and Runners up respectively. Auxillamaryllis ’09 finally ended on a musical note with a guest performance by the band – The Black Knight Project.
