FAREWELL MRS. MARGARET DOMINGO

A new beginning, a new phase in life, doing the things you always wanted to do but never could, no more waking up early and rushing to school, no more corrections to be done, but a time to sit back and relax and enjoy the little pleasures of life with your family and sift through the memories of a life well lived.

’Padam’ as we called her, joined school in June 1978 – a long 31 years and three months’ association with this institution and working with her was a pleasure. A person with strong values, down to earth and understanding she gave us good advice when needed. Her warm and friendly nature won her many friends.

As a colleague Padam was very co-operative and helpful, as a teacher she was dedicated, loving and caring that’s how many students will always remember her.

When asked about some specific incidents in her life’s journey in this school, her eyes filled with tears, her heart with nostalgia. That is but natural as severing so long an association is bound to be painful. As the Principal and Rector, Fr.Pathickal mentioned in the morning assembly, while commemorating Mrs. Domingo, how she worked with him to arrange for the Sports Day when he had joined Don Bosco School, Liluah as a young Brother. A long journey indeed! The boys of both the Junior and the Senior Section appreciated the grand old lady’s contribution to their lives with floral tributes.

Reminiscing her experiences Mrs. Domingo remembers how a boy of her class brought a single flower for her every day of a school year, while another wanted to kill her for constantly telling him to work. She of course, brought him round to recalling that it was for his betterment.

Today as she walks towards the golden sunset of her life, we wish her all the best and want to tell her “Padam, we will miss you.” We pray to God to bless you with good health, happiness and peace of mind and till we meet again ………

Adieu!
