GLOBAL PARLIAMENT 2017

The second edition of ‘Global Parliament 2017’ the Din Bosco Liluah Model United Nations Conference saw the school decorated with flags of different countries, colourful and bright.  The MUN conference that took place from the 26th to the 28th of October saw the simulation of the five committees, comprising the United Nations Security Council, the Special Summit on Africa, the All India Political Party Meet and the International Press Committee.

 

 

The conference commenced with an inaugural ceremony hosted by the Rector of the institution, Rev. Fr. Tomy Joseph, the Principal, Rev. Fr. Sunit Kiro, an address by a very eminent orator Mr. Utpal Chatterjee, an ex-sheriff of Kolkata and an address by Mohit Agarwal, the Secretary-General of Global Parliament, 2017.

 

 

Debating on various issues of international significance, crises and emergencies, around 180 delegates from 12 different schools from Howrah and Kolkata arrived at several decisions, under the able guidance of an eighteen-member strong executive board.

 

 

The befitting concluding ceremony to this august occasion witnessed a hilarious press release.  Among numerous awards, Laxmipat Singhania School bore away the best delegation award with Don Bosco Park Circus as the outstanding delegation.
