Education is not merely the acquisition of knowledge; it is the shaping of character, values, and vision. As we present this year’s Annual School Magazine, I do so with immense pride and gratitude for the vibrant journey we have shared as a Don Bosco School family. In today’s fast-moving digital world, students face many distractions, pressures, and challenges. At such a time, the life and teachings of St. John Bosco give us a powerful and practical guide for growth. Don Bosco believed in holistic growth of a student—mind, heart, and soul. His Preventive System, based on reason, religion, and loving kindness, reminds us that true education is not about fear or punishment, but about guidance, discipline, and joy. Coming from a poor background, Don Bosco worked hard, and trusted in God. His life teaches our students that good habits, self-discipline, and focused routines lead to success. Today’s students often struggle with stress, anxiety, and the constant pull of technology. Don Bosco encourages us to create balance—time for study, prayer, reflection, games, and rest. Simple steps like reducing screen time, reading regularly, and spending quiet moments in reflection can help students grow in confidence and inner peace. Don Bosco also showed great love and empathy for young people. He believed that every child is good at heart and deserves a second chance. Through friendship, sports, and guidance, he transformed troubled youth into responsible citizens. Our students too are called to practice kindness, help one another, and stand against bullying, becoming caring and responsible individuals. May Don Bosco continue to inspire our school family to grow as good human beings, responsible citizens, and people of faith. I sincerely appreciate the dedication of our teachers and staff, whose commitment and selfless service guide our students not only to succeed, but to grow into responsible and conscientious individuals. I am equally grateful to our parents for their constant support and trust, which strengthens our mission of holistic education. Inspired by the vision of Don Bosco and guided by faith and reason, we remain committed to nurturing young minds who will contribute positively to society. May this magazine serve as a mirror of our shared efforts and a source of inspiration for the future. With prayers and best wishes for continued growth and success.
The Salesian Family is a spiritual movement which brings together all the groups which share Don Bosco's mission to youth and work in his spirit. Don Bosco himself founded the Salesian Society, the Salesian Sisters, the Cooperators and Past Pupils. Since then, over 20 groups have been added to the Salesian Family.
John Bosco, the father and friend of youth was born on August 16, 1815, in a peasant family in the little hamlet of Becchi, some 20 kilometers from Turin, Italy. When John was only two years old his father, Francis Bosco passed away. His grief stricken mother, Margaret Occiena Bosco, had a harrowing time to bring him up.
